First of many, I hope.

As the party of opposition, the Republicans have failed and become more of the party of obstruction. While the President tries to deal with the mess that was handed him by the incompetent and inconsistent Bush administration, conservative media (i.e. Fox news and WSJ) have incessantly berated each and every decision.

But at least he's making decisions. To paraphrase a useless and now defunct marionette, Mr. Obama is the decider. And no, some of his decisions are not popular, some of his decisions are not easy, some of his decisions are not going to work, but he's making them. There is no Oz-like Karl Rove or Dick Cheney to pull the strings. Puppet style of politics is done and over (much like Palin's career in national politics). But Fox news is more concerned with the White House Seder supper or Obama's not attending church. And the Wall Street Journal finds itself more concerned about Obama's continuance of Bush's bailout style.

The time for acquiescence is over. The majority of Americans have voted that the party of obstruction, the party of idiocy, the party of slavery, the party of imperialism out. And now, in its new found time of power and control, the liberals in this country who understand egalitarianism, who understand science, and who understand the need for decency and empathy must continue to push social, fiscal and party issues that further distances and isolates the racist, backwater, and, soon to be, defunct GOP.

This blog will not be nice, politically correct, or well written. But the ideas within it will be political in nature and intended to galvanize liberals against the party of privilege.
